All: We cry out, believing that God hears us.
One: Come together and wait for God.
All: We come together, trusting that God is still speaking.
One: Surely God’s presence is here with us now.
All: We wait in hope, for God’s steadfast love lifts our hearts.
One: Come, worship the Lord.
All: We celebrate the power of God that restores us.

Opening Hymn #8 Red book      “Onward Christian Soldiers”

Scripture                                            Psalm 130 (pg. 392)

Hymn #109 Red book            “What a Friend”

Prayer of Confession

One: If it is true that God has recorded our failings, we hope it will never be published.  But in truth, if the book was opened, every page would be blank, for God forgives us of everything we have done, or failed to do.  So, let us wait for God's mercy and grace, as we come with our prayers for forgiveness, saying,

All: We are set free by your saving grace, Generous God, yet we must confess how we are still bound by our pride and arrogance.  We seem unable to throw off the grave clothes of our habitual sin, finding them too comfortable to wear.  We cling to our fears, for they are so familiar and make such good companions.

(Time of Silent Confession)

Yet, there in every corner of our lives, in every shadow we fear, into the cold embrace of death itself, you come, Steadfast Love.  You break the bonds of sin and terror, giving us new strength and hope for the journey, and calling us to new life through the love and sacrifice of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Assurance of Pardon
One: You can put your hope in God, dear friends, for God offers us that love which never fades, that life which never ends.
All: We wait for God, and God does not fail us.  God's hope, God's love, and God's grace are forever.  Thanks be to God.  Amen.

One Great Hour of Sharing offering- April 2nd

Around the world, millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity.  The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing-Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People-all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities I need.  Fron initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.

Each gift to One Great Hour of Sharing helps to improve the lives of people in these challenging situations.  The offering provides us a way to share God’s love with our neighbors in need.  In fact, One Great Hour of Sharing is the single, largest way that Presbyterians come together every year to work for a better world.

We make a BIG IMPACT TOGETHER beginning with YOU!

Alone, none of us can mend what is broken but stitched together, our small gifts make BIG things happen.
